What is your wedding venue and where are you located?

Paradise Trust is a wedding location as opposed to a wedding venue and we are located in the heart of the mountains about one hours drive from Queenstown. We provide the location for a DIY wedding venue.

How long has Paradise Trust been operating?

Paradise Trust is a not-for-profit organisation that has been operating for 20 years.

How long do brides normally book in advance?

Anywhere between 6 months to two year

How many guests does Paradise Trust cater for?

Paradise can sleep up to 50 people in a mix of rustic cabins and boutique accommodation – it is self catering but Queenstown is set up with many amazing mobile catering options. The size of weddings we have here range between 4 - 140 people

Do you have a wet weather back up plan?

Only for small weddings which is why we promote the micro wedding of 20 people of less. The wet weather option is the Historic local school which was relocated onto the property 5 years ago. Anything bigger and a marquee will need to be hired.

What is the most unique way a bride and groom have ever arrived to Paradise Trust?

Im not sure about unique but a horse & cart was very fitting for this historic place and arriving by helicopter is also a popular option  given the spectacular mountain backdrop.

If you could choose would you suggest winter, summer autumn or spring to be married?

That’s a hard one because every season brings it own touch of Paradise and we can experience all seasons in any given day of the year. If I had to pick one Id say a small wedding in winter.

What was one of the craziest weddings you have had?

I can only think of a  crazy moment which was when a helicopter spooked our massive pet pig and sheep and they ran for safety in the group of wedding guests. Thankfully the bride loved pigs and thought It was amazing.

Who do you think Paradise Trust is suited for?

People who appreciate the wilderness and natural beauty of a remote and unspoilt place.

If you could share one piece of advice for anyone interested in Paradise Trust what would it be?
