Don’t sweat the small stuff

It’s a wild ride for many of us now, especially those trying to plan a wedding! Here’s our take on what to do about choosing a date.

COVID WEDDING TIPS

Restrictions on large gatherings of people, state lockdowns and the overall health threat due to the COVID-19 pandemic have forced many couples to cancel or reschedule their wedding day.

Some of our clients have postponed their wedding day, set a new date sometime in the future, and given their guests plenty of advance notice. All sounds good in theory, right? Sadly, some couples then discover the original date was not affected by the restrictions in the end, and the new date is affected. How can you plan at a time like this?

An Email you could send

There are so many unknowns, and of course, the health and safety of our friends, families and essential workers are our highest priority. The most important thing is to keep communicating with each other and keep communicating with your guests. A simple email might be fine. Keep it light-hearted and upbeat if you can. Something like, “Don’t dust off your high heels and fancy frocks just yet! We’re changing the date of our wedding to a time when COVID-19 isn’t such a party-pooper. We’ll keep you posted of the date as soon as we know.

As the psychotherapist, Richard Carlson, said, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” We are living in a world where sacrifices are having to be made. Let’s just focus on treasuring our relationships and nourish what we love about each other.

This time will pass, and whatever you end up deciding to do with your wedding, we’re here to capture your moments.
