4 WEDDING VENUES NEAR THE GOLD COAST YOU NEED TO KNOW

Ah, my top 4 wedding venues neat the Gold Coast. This piece to your wedding puzzle is usually the one that most bride and grooms tend to start with - and can I just say, what an absolute platter of wedding venue glory you have at your finger tips close to the coast.

The Gold Coast and surrounding areas are literally filled with endless hotspots that will have your love bubble exploding at their sights and to be honest, narrowing it down to my top five wasn’t as easy as I expected - BUT - as a Gold Coast wedding photographer I am not only fortunate enough to capture all the moments of your wedding day but to get lost in the goodness that unfolds within each and every wedding venue. I get to taste their food, share their laughter, find my way through their valleys and maybe - just maybe - bust a move on their dance floor.

So without further ado, my top 4 venues near the Gold Coast - in no particular order of course!

  1. Gabbinbar Homestead, Toowoomba.

Full of history and homeliness, this heritage-listed hideaway holds some of the beautiful moments I have ever seen. Making the entire estate your own, the Gabbinar Homestead is nestled within the greenest of mountains housing the intimate moments of wedding day ensuring that every element of your day in touched with their magic making hands.

Our glass roof conservatory is our main reception location, located in the centre of the homestead. This beautiful area can seat up to 150 guests on long banquet tables and 120 guests on our round tables. We also offer cocktail receptions for couples who would like something more casual. For larger weddings we can offer an outdoor reception under a marquee on our beautiful croquet lawn, or even tables set up on the lawn underneath the stars. We are very flexible when it comes to receptions, we really love working with each couple and their guest numbers.

3. ANCORA.

When the coast brings the meaning of coast to life, Ancora is home to why we love Gold Coast weddings. With uninterrupted water views over Tweed, Ancora dishes out the salty breeze alongside Mediterranean cuisine that will leave your mouth watering and a venue that will have your guests talking for all their days to come. If the sea is what you see, then this one is meant to be!

Being a waterfront venue, our favourite time of the day is sunset, and with the bifold doors opening up to the overwater deck, letting the outside in and drawing out the sunset with daylight savings, we think Spring is the best time to get married at Ancora. But on the flip side, sunny winters on the Tweed Coast with floor to ceiling windows to the uninterrupted river views is also hard to go passed.

Ancora most definitely has a broad appeal, we have seen all sorts of couples celebrate with us - young lovers, long term couples with children, vowel renewals and intimate weddings. Aside from those who love the waterfront vibes, Ancora is perfect for the foodie couple. Ancora boasts a Greek inspired menu from award winning restaurant Taverna in Kingscliff. Packed with distinct Mediterranean flavours and a focus on share style dining, the gourmet menu options include locally sourced seafood, slow cooked lamb and Taverna’s famous Byron Bay haloumi.
