It’s your big day, right? You want to feel comfortable and at ease throughout the day. So do the groundwork first and follow these tips for choosing the right wedding vendors for you

Tips to choosing the right vendors

Referrals are some of the best ways to find great vendors. But don’t blindly accept what your friends have told you. We’ve all got different personalities, so what’s nice as pie for your mate might really stress you out.

Maybe speak with past couples

Ask prospective vendors if you can talk to some of their previous clients on the phone. This way, you’ll get a sense of who they are well beyond the portfolio, and this will help you figure out if there’s a match.

Reviews

Do your research online. This is a given. Check out popular wedding blogs and the big search engines like google. Hearing from past couples’ experiences can ensure you that you might be choosing the right person.

Go with your gut

Our biggest tip would always be to trust your gut. If you really hit it off with a vendor and they are on your wavelength, you’re probably onto a good match. But if they don’t, listen to that feeling and walk away early.

Do they know their stuff? This might sound obvious, but you’ve got to be confident your chosen vendor will know what they are talking about and what they are doing. Do they respond to emails in a reasonable timeframe? Are they focused on you rather than them? Again, trust your gut.

Think about vendors working with vendors

For example, Photography generally coincides with videography, makeup artists are normally with hairstylists etc. So ensure you are gauging who will be working alongside each other and maybe speaking with your photographer for who they do and don’t recommend for your personalities can ensure you are not being pulled in two separate directions.

Lastly

Invest in the things that last, we are obviously passionate about photography but more than just the photos, we are just as passionate about creating an atmosphere you are comfortable in.

We have had instances, where video teams we have worked alongside have had a totally different approach, which doesn’t mean that is bad, but for the couple that booked them, we believe they had a different vision of how it would go.
