Ash & Don - The Farm Byron Bay Wedding

There’s something quite magical about getting married on a farm. In amongst the sheep, the silos and the rolling hills, this was the perfect setting for Ash and Don to tie the knot in a comfortable yet luxe location. In fact, keeping everything ‘chill’ was high on the list of priorities for Don on his wedding day. So being outdoors and breathing the fresh country air was just right for this uber-happy couple. And it also meant they could bring their dog – Maggie.

Ash and Don love Maggie. She’s very much the centre of their lives, so it seemed fitting to include her at the wedding. She even featured in the proposal – that’s how loved she is!

“We had gone to Wye River on the Great Ocean Road. I couldn’t sleep because I was so nervous about proposing,” remembers Don. “So, at 4 am I got up, and Maggie and I went for a run along the beach. It was epic. Another guy turned up with his dog and said to me when walking past, ‘It’s going to be a good day, mate,’ and I thought to myself it definitely is!”

“As the sun was setting that evening, he plucked up the courage,” continues Ash. “He had his hands closed, and he said, ‘I’ve got a present for Maggie in one hand and one for Mum in the other’. He opened his hand for Maggie, and it was a dog biscuit… then he choked up a bit, and I cottoned on as to what was going on. Anyway, I said yes!”

The photographs from this wedding say it all, really. Which is just how it should be. As a Gold Coast wedding photographer, we are best known for capturing not just the moments but also the stories of the couples we photograph. And the emotions that go along with their stories.

The couple look stunning as they shared their vows and soak up the love, surrounded by family and friends. It was the perfect day and the perfect setting with all the details and delights captured for the couple in these images.

Alongside their love of Maggie, the lovebirds are partial to good food and good wine and love nothing more than just being together and talking for hours. So what better way than to share their perfect day with family and friends over some exquisite tucker, some great music and plenty of dancing! The couple are now looking forward to being Mr and Mrs Banks, hanging out together, raising “little Banksy’s”, and teaching their children to ski and to cook.

This wedding was such a treasured event and one that the couple and their guests (and Maggie!) will remember with joy for many years to come.
