Brittany & Beau share their experience.
”We have spent weeks just trying to think of the right words to even describe just how amazing our experience was with Ryan from Feather & Finch Photography.
Feather & Finch was actually the very first vendor we booked in for our wedding, even before our venue. We knew there wasn't anyone else that we wanted to document our day! We had to postpone our wedding from June 2020 to June 2021 due to Covid and Ryan made the changes effortless and even called just to check that we were ok and gave me a little calming pep talk that everything would work out.
We honestly can't thank the Feather & Finch team enough for everything, not just for documenting our day but even in the lead-up. Any questions we had were answered so quickly and Ryan even took the time to go over everything from our run sheets to liaising with our other vendors. This made the planning process such a breeze. So THANK YOU!
For us we aren't people that like to stand and pose for pictures and we couldn't have been made to feel more comfortable in front of Ryan and his camera. Honestly half the time we didn't even realise he was there capturing moments. He really made us feel so connected during our portraits session and we have absolutely no words for the beautiful images he captured. Everyone that we have shown our images to have been brought to tears, as he has such a talent for capturing a moment with all the feelings so well. Truly at the end of the day all you have left are your memories of the moments, and Ryan thanks to you, we will forever be transported back to our wedding day through your images.”

Beau and Brittany - Kooroomba Lavander Farm
It was just the sweetest vibe at Beau and Brittany’s wedding, held at Kooroomba Lavender Farm in June 2021.
After a long COVID-induced delay to this wedding day, guests were greeted with the “Let’s finally ‘I do’ this thing” sign as they arrived to celebrate the marriage of Beau and Brittany. Everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.
The couple were looking for a venue that had a blend of rural and rustic, at the same time as being sophisticated and elegant. Kooroomba Lavender Farm was the perfect choice. Nestled in the Fassifern Valley at Mt Alford near Boonah, it’s about one and half hours’ drive from the Gold Coast and just 60 minutes from Brisbane.
The wedding venue lends itself beautifully to wedding photography. There are endless opportunities to take that perfect picture, and Beau and Britt chose to make the most of the venue, despite the rain and overcast day. Some say rain on your wedding day is a symbol of good luck. Britt and Beau certainly didn’t seem perturbed by the lack of sunshine that day!
For me, as a Gold Coast wedding photographer, I love the occasional drop of rain. It means I get to find cosy nooks and secluded romantic spots for photo opportunities, and I turn up the dial on capturing the emotion of the day. And after all, that’s what creates the memories and pulls on your heartstrings. Those moments are what you remember from your special day together. There were plenty of fun and natural moments with this couple and their wedding party, and these are definitely the best shots I took that day.
I’m always wanting to capture those special moments. Like the first time we see Britt in her beautiful dress. “My mum made my ivory dress,” says Britt. “And the wedding veil was made from bridal tulle we found when we were clearing out my grandma’s house after she passed away. It was like she had left it there for me.” Britt looked absolutely stunning, and I’m sure grandma would have agreed.
