Learn about the process your images will go through

As we are sure you are aware of all the restrictions in place due to COVID, many couples postponed their wedding to 2022/2023.

Currently, we are doing two years’ worth of weddings in this year alone. On your booking we likely had never even heard of COVID or thought anything would be effected by any sort of restirctions etc.

We had a choice, reduce the quality and stages of our editing process that has taken years to come up with to deliver your photos fast, but we knew we just couldnt bring ourselves to it, to provide half-finished photos would make us feel uneasy and we are sure you wouldnt be too happy. That is why we decided to keep our intensive 5 stage editing process to ensure the delivery is perfect every time. Dont worry we know how excited you are too see them, but trust us on this creative process you dont want it rushed as your going to have these for your lifetime.

When our books quickly doubled due to the covid pandemic we had a choice to either cut our quality and ensure the editing process down to deliver weddings quicker, but we just couldn’t do it. Why fast-track the thing that brings your images to life, the process that has taken 7 years to develop for images that you will cherish for many years to come just for a few weeks.

Our goal is always to provide the absolute best quality images every time without fail.

We know how excited you will be to relive your wedding day through all of the incredible photographs we capture. Our editing process involves 5 essential steps to ensure you receive the best possible finished product every time. Your photos are hand-made by our team with an individual hands-on approach every step of the way.

To give you an idea of what your images will be going through.

Stage 1 - Storytelling selection -
Your photographer will sit down and go through every single photograph taken on that day one by one, checking over technical accuracy, lighting, blinks, storytelling, exposure, and more.

Stage 2 - Tonal Balance -
Here our master editor will apply color balance and exposure correction to each image individually. Once the initial color balance has been achieved your photographer will sit down with our editor and go through each image to ensure quality control before moving on to stage 3

Stage 3 - Signature Method (aka "hot sauce")
Next, your images come to our signature editing method, we can not elaborate much on this stage but let's just say this is the most time-consuming part generally taking 2-4 weeks alone to achieve approval by our head editor and your photographer to move to step 4

Step 4 - Print Tests -
You may be thinking, Print tests? What do you mean? Well, we are all about images being displayed in all forms, from digital to print.

Often we have seen other photographers never really checking how an image will print, it gets delivered to the customer, 6 months later they go to print and it looks terrible, the skin tones are yellow, blacks are grey and they are wondering why it looks so crisp on a phone but so bad on the wall.

Well in 2019 we partnered up with a color technician at a print lab in Adelaide to have them check over a series from each wedding. The lab prints a selection of the images on different paper stocks, from gloss, to matt, to lustre to ensure we are on the right track to make images that will print perfect for a lifetime.

This process may seem intense but we want our images to be timeless and look perfect for years to come in all mediums. Once we have received word back from the lab we will make any needed adjustments before stage 5. This stage takes 1-3 weeks pending on the labs turn around and wedding size.

Stage 5 - The Cherry On-top -
Ok we are not too sure what to call stage 5 but we always refer to it as dessert, it's kind of like having an incredible entree and main and then the perfect dessert comes out to leaves you completely speechless, that's stage 5.

Here the portrait images from your wedding day goes into a different editing software where our head editor works on ensuring everything is perfect, we never aim to change a person's appearance but to enhance their beauty, and that's stage 5.

As you can see we take so much pride in ensuring your images go through every stage perfectly, this is why often we can not interrupt the process by delivering sneak peeks that haven't been organized prior, etc.

We are not a business to slap on some filters and say goodbye, Art takes time and the more time it takes the more we can ensure it's perfect every time.

We thank you for your understanding and hope us explaining this process helps understand how many hours go into your story.

Our goal is to deliver only the best images possible, and we are sure you are just as excited as we are.

Generally, they take 16-24 weeks, depending on the season, wedding size and more. “Lets not rush art”

This obviously can vary depending on the world events, our schedule etc.

So don't worry though the wait is well worth it, as you're going to have these photos for many years to come and these are not something you want to rush just because.

Thank you truly for your patience and for allowing us to take your images through all of the needed steps.
